About The Position
The Maintenance Technician position at Raleigh Firs Apartments offers a full-time, permanent opportunity for a motivated and self-directed individual to maintain a 119-unit property in Portland, Oregon. This role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, including one weekend day and on-call shifts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks, ensuring that the apartment community remains in excellent condition for residents. Living on-site is not required, but candidates must reside within 10-15 minutes of the property. The Maintenance Technician will handle routine service requests, emergency repairs, and preventative maintenance projects. This includes light electrical and plumbing work, general repairs, and troubleshooting. The technician will also assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are ready for new residents by performing tasks such as painting, caulking, and checking appliances for proper operation. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for maintaining the property’s appearance, including the office, clubhouse, fitness center, pool areas, and other common areas. Interaction with residents is a key aspect of this role, requiring a professional and friendly demeanor while complying with all state and federal Fair Housing Laws. The technician will work closely with the maintenance supervisor and resident manager to prioritize daily maintenance tasks and respond to emergency calls as needed. Safety is paramount, and the technician must adhere to Carla Properties' safety program, which includes the ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and using basic hand tools.
