About The Position

Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is seeking a part-time Maintenance and Technician to perform a variety of building maintenance tasks, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, test and inspections of physical plant equipment, preventive maintenance and various janitorial duties with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; two years of technical or trade school preferred.
• At least 2 years’ experience performing general maintenance, basic mechanical engineering, and repairs on facility equipment and property structures.
• Experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment ensuring proper safety precautions.
• Healthcare industry experience highly preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and carpentry is a plus.
• Experience with compliance with The Joint Commission, EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform building maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Conduct tests and inspections of physical plant equipment.
• Carry out preventive maintenance.
• Perform various janitorial duties.
