About The Position

About Us: National Asset Recovery Specialists, Inc. is a leading provider of repossession and recovery services, operating nationwide on behalf of major banks, credit unions, and financial institutions. Known for our professionalism, compliance-driven practices, and industry expertise, we deliver dependable asset recovery solutions through a skilled and dedicated team. We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Maintenance Intern to join our Garfield lot facility. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in the automotive industry and fleet operations within a nationally recognized repossession and asset recovery company. You will gain hands-on experience by working directly with a certified technician, who bring solid expertise in vehicle maintenance, fabrication, diagnostics, welding, and fleet management.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to commit to the full duration of the internship
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a high school, trade program, or technical college in related field
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must pass an F.B.I background check
  • A student or recent graduate in Automotive Technology or a related program
  • Interest in hands-on mechanical work and learning the ins and outs of fleet operations and vehicle maintenance
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
  • A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a team environment
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs., stand for long periods of time, and work in an outdoor or shop environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks (oil changes, battery checks, tire inspections, etc.)
  • Learn diagnostic basics and safety procedures under the guidance of experienced technicians
  • Help organize tools, supplies, and parts inventory
  • Shadow the lot manager and maintenance staff to understand day-to-day operations
  • Gain exposure to industry-specific technology and national fleet logistics
  • Gain hands-on experience with light fabrication techniques and basic hydraulic systems used in equipment
