The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment and systems within our optical lab. This includes routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, keeping accurate records, forecasting future needs, and ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely to ensure machine reliability and minimize unexpected downtime.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Preferably 2 years of equipment maintenance experience
  • Proven ability to repair sophisticated equipment
  • Optical experience a plus, but not required
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, data entry, etc.)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills
  • Analytical and decision-making skills
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently oversee and manage daily start up and close procedures of all production equipment and facilities to start production as soon as possible.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on optical lab equipment, including lens cutting machines, coating machines, polishers, generators, and inspection devices.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues, implementing effective and timely solutions.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and identify potential issues before they lead to equipment failure.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with the production team to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to lab operations.
  • Maintain Tech Support Portal for all Schneider machines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all maintenance procedures.
  • Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new lab equipment.
  • Provide training and support to lab staff on proper equipment use and basic maintenance.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve maintenance processes and equipment performance.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, electrical, landscaping, etc.
