About The Position

The position involves performing scheduled and emergency maintenance on manufacturing machinery and facilities. The role requires correcting problems with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems, as well as PLCs. The technician will maintain specified production and spare equipment, perform basic to moderately complex mechanical repairs and installations, and interact with vendors to complete projects or repair equipment. The technician will also diagnose root causes of problems and correct issues with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery and equipment. The job includes routine, predictive, and preventive maintenance on all machinery, operating man lifts and forklifts, and maintaining parts inventory.

Requirements

  • High school graduate/GED.
  • Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience, with at least three years in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Knowledge of basic preventive maintenance scheduling and implementation.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Full utilization and knowledge of lockout, tagout, verify.
  • Ability to learn basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis.
  • Ability to work well with others and with limited supervision.
  • Skilled in working with hand and electrical tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with basic hand tools, Amp probe, drill press, handheld power tools, forklift, voltmeter.
  • Experience in a manufacturing plant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on manufacturing machinery and facilities.
  • Correct problems with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems, and PLCs.
  • Maintain specified production and spare equipment.
  • Perform basic to moderately complex mechanical repairs and installations.
  • Perform basic to moderately complex grounds/facilities repairs as required.
  • Interact with vendors to complete projects or repair equipment.
  • Diagnose root cause of problems and correct issues with machinery and equipment.
  • Perform routine, predictive, and preventive maintenance on all machinery.
  • Operate man lifts and forklifts, transport heavy parts and equipment.
  • Identify needed parts to repair facilities and machinery.
  • Initiate and complete CMMS work orders utilizing Maintenance Connection.
  • Coordinate maintenance of parts inventory with MRO and purchasing personnel.
  • Maintain grinders and associated blowers; adjust and install sharpened blades.
  • Fabricate metal parts and perform welding as required.
  • Perform basic to moderately complex electrical repairs and installations.
  • Respond to on-call emergencies as needed.
  • Attend daily shift meetings and/or monthly plant meetings.
