About The Position
Mars Petcare is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our Nutro business at our manufacturing plant located in Kansas City, MO. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment and facilities. The Maintenance Technician will work the night shift from 6 PM to 6:30 AM, following a 4 on / 4 off schedule. As part of our total compensation package, we offer a competitive salary ranging from $35.05 to $37.05 per hour, along with a $3000 sign-on bonus and a shift differential rate for night shifts. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, adjusting, repairing, and performing preventive and predictive maintenance on existing production equipment. You will work closely with Lead Maintenance Technicians and Reliability Technicians to communicate any issues or ongoing problems with the equipment. Your responsibilities will include writing corrective work orders for discrepancies discovered during preventive maintenance, completing planned work orders in a timely manner, and identifying improvement opportunities in your area of responsibility. You will also assist in routine shutdowns and start-ups, train operators on operational set-up issues, and maintain an open line of communication with other associates and the management team. Demonstrating a food safety quality culture in your actions and words is essential. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, with proficiency in industrial mechanics, electricians, instrumentation and controls, and rigging/millwork tools. Injection molding or machining experience is strongly preferred.
