About The Position

The Facilities Mechanic III is an expert in the field of industrial maintenance and equipment repair. You will be a top technical resource to maintain and troubleshoot multiple material handling systems and building components and requires advanced understanding of troubleshooting and repair of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Also, there is an emphasis on the troubleshooting and fine-tuning of electrical systems and electronics including Programmable Logic Control (PLC), Variable Frequency Drives, and other controls to ensure the system is operating at peak production requirements. You will report to the Maintenance Area Manager and work onsite full-time Wed-Sat days.

Requirements

  • Read and comprehend technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  • High School graduate or equivalent; Industrial mechanic trade school courses or certification or equivalent military technical training.
  • 5 years experience with mechanical and electrical systems including conveyor/sortation systems or similar equipment.
  • Two years leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Oversee the completion of multiple tasks.
  • Prefer knowledge of building codes, National Electrical Code, National Fire Protection Association, and OSHA regulations.
  • Working knowledge of voltage meter and AC/DC systems.
  • Can repeatedly lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and facilitate general facility repairs such as plumbing, electrical, lighting, painting, HVAC, and wall repair.
  • Perform planned and unplanned repairs, and preventative maintenance to production-related equipment, Powered Industrial Trucks, and building equipment.
  • Support and perform planned and unplanned repairs and preventative maintenance to maintain operation of conveyors and sorter equipment.
  • Have a fundamental understanding of AC and DC systems and how to use a voltage meter.
  • Follow lock out/tag out policy.
  • Help implement continuous improvement processes including Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
  • Understand and comply with all safety and environmental regulations & company procedures.
  • Input and maintain records using CMMS systems to ensure accuracy of time, parts, and repairs.
  • Implement mentoring responsibilities for orienting, training, & assigning work related tasks.
