About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician III – HVAC & Boiler Systems to support facility operations through advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial mechanical systems. This role requires deep technical expertise in HVAC equipment, boilers, and related plant systems, along with the ability to work independently and safely in a fast paced environment. HVAC System Maintenance & Repair Perform advanced diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on: Rooftop units (RTUs) Air handling units (AHUs) VAV systems Split systems, heat pumps, and VRF systems Large tonnage HVAC equipment Exhaust, ventilation, and air distribution systems Inspect and repair motors, pumps, belts, bearings, valves, and mechanical components. Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance including filter changes, lubrication, coil cleaning, and operational checks. Boiler & Hot Water System Maintenance Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on: Low and high pressure boilers Hot water and steam distribution systems Boiler feedwater systems, pumps, and controls Burners, gas trains, safety devices, and combustion components Conduct boiler inspections, combustion analysis, and efficiency checks. Monitor water chemistry and maintain proper treatment levels to protect equipment. Support annual boiler tear downs, safety checks, and regulatory inspections. Controls, Testing & Commissioning Diagnose and correct issues involving thermostats, sensors, actuators, and BAS controls. Perform system testing, programming, and commissioning for HVAC and boiler systems. Verify system performance and ensure equipment operates within design specifications. Operational Support Respond to service requests and equipment failures promptly and professionally. Support planning and execution of recommended repairs from initiation through completion. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and system conditions. Participate in the rotating on call schedule for emergency HVAC/boiler support.

Requirements

  • A combination of education and directly related experience equal to eight (8) years; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  • Minimum 5 years of journeyman level experience in commercial/industrial HVAC and/or boiler maintenance.
  • Technical or vocational training in HVAC, boiler operations, or mechanical systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of: HVAC systems and components, Boiler operation, maintenance, and safety, Air distribution, steam, and hydronic systems, Preventive and predictive maintenance practices
  • EPA Universal Certification required.
  • Availability for rotating on call emergency service.

Nice To Haves

  • Boiler operator license or certification (preferred or required depending on site).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
