Requirements

  • Programming PLCs and Controls Experience Required
  • Certification(s) in one of the following: HVAC Welding Electrical Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Awareness of Regulatory Standards (FDA, OSHA)
  • Experience in food manufacturing and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Technical degree (tech school or other qualified institution) and 2 to 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Tech in an industrial setting (Technical degree or certification should be in at least one of the following): HVAC with emphasis or refrigeration systems (ammonia is a plus) Electrical- schematic, motors, pumps, power Welding Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Hands-on experience with a wide range of maintenance tasks, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Be able to follow instructions, read, and understand equipment manuals and procedures
  • Strong analytical skills to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Clear and effective communication skills to report maintenance issues, collaborate with other team members, and coordinate repairs.
  • Ability to operate a forklift (certifies license is a plus)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., Kneel Crawl and stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and GMP requirements for facility
  • Participates in plant QA Systems (SQMS Key Element supporter) and HSE systems (Owns one key element)
  • Performs Hermetic Seam Checks for SCM and EVAP (CCP)
  • Ensure that quality issues are reported to management
  • Must have the ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity and Technical Leadership
  • Repair and maintain all processing, filling, and downstream equipment (Can troubleshoot and perform full tear down on DE palletizers, Case Packers, can and case coders, check weighers, conveyors, Hartness Robot, tray formers, case wrappers, pouch case taper, can operate and troubleshoot on labelers, Palletizers, Kawasaki Robot, DRP, Fillers, seamers, retorts , cryovac, taptones, scheffers, MVR, separator, homogenizer, finisher, alfast, CIP circuits, milk receiving ,sugar receiving, oil receiving, chemical unloading, navigate and troubleshoot using ifix software, troubleshoot cream loadouts, troubleshoot cut open, troubleshoot to meet product targets, troubleshoot waste water system and identify the different lubricants used in the plant.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues on programmable controllers, chart recorders and meters through self-directed review of OEM provided materials
  • Troubleshoot, repair and change out of 3 phase motors, wiring and controls, read and understand writing schematics
  • Assist Utility Mechanic in the repair of Ammonia based system valve, piping, glycol plate heat exchange, condensers and receivers, industrial steam boilers, associated water supply and steam distribution
  • Safety and effectively use acetylene and propane torch for cutting and brazing
  • Recommended measures to improve equipment performance, product, quality, and safety
  • Ensure equipment is free of recognized hazards or that hazards are protected prior to placing the equipment back in operation
  • Responsible to be directly involved and committed to see any repairs through and insure the plant has appropriate support needed to minimize down time. Production and Efficiency requirements may at times require extended hours to insure all repairs are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all trouble calls in your area are investigated, documented, and communicated in an accurate and timely manner. Trouble call documentation is to be recorded on eAM work orders.
  • Keep area clean at all times
  • Assist and completes as required on BOS, Shift Indicator, Risk Prediction and Confined space entry programs.
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled informational meetings (i.e. pre-shift meetings).
  • Maintain a positive work environment that encourage teamwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned
