About The Position

Under minimal direction, provides operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of secondary components of steam and hot water distribution including all fixed and non-fixed, non-patient care steam and hot water equipment in a safe, effective and efficient manner in response to or in support of customer needs. This position also supports all areas of the Hospital maintenance and preventative maintenance programs. The Maintenance Technician - Boiler also performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties for the hospital’s Plant Operations and Facilities Services Department and is assigned to work for the Supervisor of Facilities Services In addition, the Maintenance Technician - Boiler may be called upon to lead a group of workers on a project, teach maintenance skills to other members of the department, review work of outside vendors to report on discrepancies, as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 4 – 6 years’ experience in operational level maintenance and engineering and/or demonstrated experience as a Tech II or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from Trade School.
  • 6 years’ experience in operational level maintenance and engineering with 4 years’ being hospital experience.
  • Boiler or Stationary Engineer License.
  • In lieu of the above minimum requirements, an equivalent combination of experience and certification that fall within the limits of minimum requirements and preferred will be considered.
