Position Summary: The Facilities Engineering Department is responsible for all aspects of maintaining the site infrastructure in an active, reliable state to support cGMP operations. Facilities Engineering oversees the architectural features of the buildings, Structural/Civil, Biotech process and laboratory equipment and systems, HVAC, Plant and Clean Utility Systems, Electrical Power and Lighting, and Automation for cGMP facility. As an essential position, under the supervision of the Facility Maintenance Manager the night facilities maintenance tech II will support graveyard shift maintenance operations including general maintenance of utilities, equipment, buildings, premises, and grounds at KBI BioPharma’s site located in Boulder, CO. Shift: hours (Grave shift) Two-week rotation, hours are 7:00 pm to 7:30 am. Week one is (Wed-Sat) Week two is (Thursday- Saturday). A 3-month day-shift training rotation (12-hour shifts, 3-4 days a week) is required prior to being placed on grave shift. During this time, the employee will not be eligible for shift differential pay. Responsibilities: The graveyard shift facilities maintenance technician II performs corrective and preventive maintenance of architectural systems, structural / civil systems, mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, process equipment and utility equipment training on and following approved procedures where applicable. Troubleshoot and repair facilities, equipment, and systems, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic circuits (motors, pumps, compressors, boilers, chillers, and purified and domestic water systems) using manuals, SOPs, specifications, safety procedures, LOTO and other workplace aids. Provide recommendations and assist with the implementation of methods, procedures, and techniques for improving maintenance of existing/ new systems as well as assisting with system failure root case investigations. Provide on-call response to support plant operation during off – hours if needed. Perform general facility repairs not to exclude lighting, walls, floors, paint, and general office space support. Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: High school diploma or equivalent, preferably including hands-on or vocational school training, and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a general maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, or A.S. or A.A. degree in mechanical/utilities/information technology, or licensed journeyman. Work experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing or equivalent regulated industry is a plus. Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees or clients. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and interpret bar graphs. Physical Demands: The physical requirements of the position include standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, use of vision (including discerning colors), talking, and hearing. Frequently, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing ladders/ stairs (including vertical ladders to rooftops), and crawling apply. The position requires the use of PPE, including fall protection, confined space, and electrical safety. The position requires reading documents, working on a computer with a keyboard and mouse, discerning colors, discerning the feel of textures, manipulating small dosage units, and using a magnifying glass. Work is performed in both an office and a manufacturing environment. The ability to wear safety shoes, eye protection, and use respirators is required. Computer Skills: Email using Outlook, Teams, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and be able to use computer applications. Equipment Use: Ability to use both manual and power tools for general maintenance. Computer, telephone, copy, and fax machines Salary Range: $26.45-$36.50 per hour this position is eligible for a 15% shift differential in addition to the posted salary range. Salary range provided per current averages and expectations. The salary and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
