Chapel Haven is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to perform a variety of routine maintenance tasks across our facilities. The Maintenance Technician II will be responsible for carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and landscaping maintenance, as well as ensuring the upkeep of agency vehicles and coordinating custodial coverage. This role requires a proactive and energetic individual who can efficiently prioritize, track, and complete maintenance requests in a timely manner. The Maintenance Technician II must be computer user friendly, as they will need to track fleet maintenance, purchase orders, and inventory using digital systems. The maintenance Technician II will play a critical role in keeping Chapel Haven facilities safe, clean and fully functional. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years' work experience including mechanical, plumbing, electrical.
  • Ability to multi-task and complete assigned duties within a specified period.
  • Effective judgment and decision-making skills; possess a keen sense of initiative.
  • Independently organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments.
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawnmowers, small hand tools and power tools.
  • Compassion/patience for individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong people skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize daily maintenance list
  • Basic computer skills: email, calendar, Microsoft Word to complete forms and maintenance request software
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Valid CT Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record
  • Use of own vehicle as needed.
  • Ability to participate in physical activity.
  • Ability to climb, lift, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to do moderate bending, lifting, and standing on a regular basis.
  • This job requires the ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Completing repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, painting, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Monitoring and responding to online facility service requests using the Workshub system.
  • Performing groundskeeping duties such as lawn maintenance, and snow removal.
  • Assisting with vehicle maintenance, including scheduling cleaning, oil changes, and inspections.
  • Conducting routine inspections of heating, electrical, and air conditioning equipment.
  • Ensuring all facilities complies with OSHA, DDS, Health Department, and Fire Marshall safety standards.
  • Coordinating custodial coverage for multiple buildings and maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies.
