The Maintenance Technician II performs skilled maintenance and repairs to university facilities and equipment in multiple trades areas such as plumbing, electrical, and/or carpentry. Job Description Typical duties include but are not limited to: Performs repairs to buildings, structures and equipment requiring skill in trade functions such as plumbing, electrical, or carpentry. Inspects, operates, or tests machinery and equipment to troubleshoot and diagnose issues. Provides training and guidance to others in areas of skill. Assists with routine and preventative repairs and maintenance in other skilled trades such as repair of electrical devices, water leaks, install plumbing fixtures, appliance repair, drywall repair and painting. Sets up, breaks down and cleans furniture, equipment and facilities for regular and special events. Assists with maintenance projects such as common cleanup, moving furniture, inventory, fire and smoke alarm checks, inspections, or other projects as assigned. Maintains records and logs of preventative maintenance and repair history, inventory used, costs, time and other information requested. Complies with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, university policy and accepted safe work practices. Cleans and maintains all work areas, tools, and equipment. Maintains tool and supply inventory. Assists with ordering supplies for the department. Works a rotating on-call schedule to respond to emergencies to ensure continuation of service and operations.
