About The Position

Performs routine and preventative maintenance for the hospital.

Requirements

• Three to four years of construction or maintenance related experience.
• Basic general mechanical aptitude.
• Basic carpentry/painting skills.
• Must be able to make proper decisions in an emergency situation, meet deadlines, and assist in keeping the hospital operating smoothly at all times.
• May be required to be available for emergency call at specified intervals.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• None required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine mowing, trimming, trash removal, etc. from outside of buildings and parking areas when designated to grounds maintenance.
• Performs preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment according to established procedures; inspects, calibrates, adjusts, lubricates, and repairs or replaces components. Maintains documentation of work done on equipment.
• Assists in performing carpentry and painting as necessary in renovations and repairs.
• Assists in heavy moving necessitated by office changes, renovation projects, and/or moving items to storage.
• Performs any such duties deemed consistent with the general maintenance of a healthcare facility or commercial physical plant facility and associated properties.
• Attends departmental meetings, safety meetings, and in-services as required.
