About The Position

The Maintenance Technician II performs skilled maintenance and repair work across GVR facilities, supporting safe, functional, and well-maintained environments for members and staff. This role works independently on routine and intermediate repairs, completes assigned work orders, and supports preventative maintenance efforts. The Technician II is expected to follow established procedures, apply sound technical judgment, and coordinate with supervisors and vendors as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum three years of relevant maintenance or facilities work experience.
  • Must maintain a valid, current driver’s license.
  • Must maintain CPR certification.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and building systems.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and hand-held power tools.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical safety, and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with maintenance tracking or work order systems (e.g., Micromain, or similar).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to work varying schedules, including weekends, as needed.
  • Demonstrated initiative, reliability, and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Certification in applicable discipline and/or related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned work orders accurately and in a timely manner; document repairs and update work order status per department procedures.
  • Follow all safety requirements, including PPE use and established safety protocols.
  • Perform routine and intermediate plumbing repairs, including drains, pipes, faucets, valves, and fixtures.
  • Perform carpentry work such as framing, door installation, shelving, minor structural repairs, and furniture assembly.
  • Paint, prep, and touch up interior and exterior surfaces as needed.
  • Inspect and repair pool covers, roller drums, locking mechanisms, gates, and brake assemblies.
  • Monitor building systems and perform routine HVAC maintenance; report issues requiring advanced repair or vendor support.
  • Repair and maintain appliances and mechanical equipment.
  • Ensure electrical lockout/tagout procedures are followed; coordinate with qualified personnel for electrical repairs beyond scope.
  • Support compliance with OSHA, Fire, and other applicable state and local regulations.
  • Identify and request parts, tools, and supplies needed to complete work.
  • Manage preventative maintenance projects, as assigned.
  • Assist with training and orienting new Maintenance Technicians on tools, tasks, and safety practices.
  • Troubleshoot and repair power tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Communicate maintenance concerns, recurring issues, and repair needs to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
