Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician II assists the Lead Maintenance Technician in maintaining buildings and common areas in the best possible condition for the assigned property. May perform duties of the Lead Maintenance as required by the needs of the property. A variety of maintenance tasks include caulking, painting, basic painting, basic electrical, plumbing, repairing windows, flooring, janitorial, landscaping, and HVAC maintenance. The Maintenance Technician supports the Property Manager in maintaining the physical condition of the property in compliance with State and Federal regulations.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED preferred.
Must have working knowledge of Uniform Physical Conditions Standards.
Inspection or Housing Quality Standards Inspection requirements, dependent on the type of property/properties assigned.
Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
Must be able to read and understand operating instructions and manuals for tools and equipment at the assigned location(s).
Must possess two or more years’ working knowledge of basic electrical repair, plumbing repair, basic drywall, caulking, painting, carpentry, flooring, and janitorial skills.
Valid Texas Driver's License
Ability to move around the property in all types of weather conditions.
Ability to access the second story and roof areas.
A significant amount of physical activity (walking, climbing stairs or ladders (often while lifting or carrying items), bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, reaching above shoulder height, grasping, gripping, turning, or lifting) is required daily.
Able to hear and respond to warnings and calls for help.
Able to lift up to 75 pounds frequently.
The mental work demands include regular attendance, working well with others, verbal contact with others, noise, and occasional travel by conventional means, including motor vehicle and the like, within Prospera’s region and other locations as required.
