About The Position

Shift hours are Mon - Fri 2:00-10:30pm. The Level 2 Maintenance Technician works both independently and with engineering and other maintenance/plant personnel to perform preventative and routine maintenance tasks. The technician will troubleshoot equipment issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks are performed while supporting the safety policies, financial goals, and objectives of the company.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing environment working with hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the installation, repair, modification and maintenance of equipment
  • Basic shop math skills
  • The physical requirements include frequent standing/walking, twisting/turning, bending/squatting/kneeling, use of upper extremities to handle/manipulate/reach, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.; and occasional overhead work, climbing, and pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
  • Work includes exposure to machinery with moving parts, toxic or flammable substances, noise, and electrical hazards.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in HVAC, electronics or industrial mechanics preferred.
  • Experience in the converting or printing industries a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, coating equipment, slitters, compressed air systems, pumps and facilities equipment/infrastructure
  • Provide general preventative maintenance of HVAC systems equipment (non-coolant applications)
  • Provide general electrical repair/maintenance and installation electronic controls/equipment
  • Perform electrical shutdown/startup of low to medium voltage equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on all production and facilities equipment
  • Participate in plant safety and continuous improvement programs
  • Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed
  • Purchase replacement and repair parts to rebuild/repair equipment in a timely manner within budgetary constraints.
