About The Position

The position involves performing daily inspections of greenhouse infrastructure and mechanical systems, troubleshooting and repairing various systems including climate control, irrigation, electrical, and HVAC. The technician will monitor control systems, execute preventive maintenance, support seasonal changeovers, and assist in mentoring junior technicians. The role requires ensuring that all equipment, tools, and spare parts are accounted for and secured when not in use.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or technical diploma in industrial electronics or related technical college courses completed is preferred
  • Experience with AC/DC electronics / PLC/control circuit troubleshooting
  • Experience with AC motor troubleshooting and installation
  • Demonstrable experience with multimeter, megger, and any other associated test equipment
  • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), including writing, programming, and installation, is a plus
  • Experience with Ladder Logic is a plus
  • Experience with predictive/preventative maintenance tools and procedures
  • Computer maintenance management system experience (CMMS)
  • Ability to interpret schematic and electrical diagrams/illustrations
  • Team player with positive work attitude and flexibility in a growing and changing culture

  • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
  • Experience with Ladder Logic

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of greenhouse infrastructure and mechanical systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with climate control and heating systems (e.g., boilers, hot water lines)
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with irrigation and water treatment systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with electrical and lighting systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with rolling benches, curtain systems, motors, and gearboxes
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with HVAC (heating, cooling, and ventilation)
  • Monitor control systems (e.g., PRIVA) and assist with calibration or troubleshooting
  • Repair, replace, maintain, and troubleshoot AC and DC motors, photo eyes, relays, and proximity sensors
  • Install, set up, and maintain AC variable drives as needed
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment and infrastructure
  • Support seasonal changeovers and capital improvement projects
  • Assist in mentoring junior technicians by providing guidance and direction
  • Ensure all associated equipment, tools, and spare parts are accounted for and secured when not in use
