About The Position

The Maintenance Technician II at Canam Steel Corporation is responsible for ensuring the continued operation of production by performing preventive maintenance, general maintenance, and emergency service, with a strong focus on electrical components. This role requires a combination of mechanical, electrical, and welding skills to maintain and repair equipment and facilities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and general controls.
• Ability to perform basic stick and wire feed welding.
• Knowledge of lockout/tag out procedures and proper PPE usage.
• Ability to learn the basic functions of all plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventive maintenance and general maintenance tasks to ensure production operations.
• Perform emergency service as needed to minimize downtime.
• Maintain and repair electrical components and systems.
• Install and move machinery as required.
• Follow lockout/tag out procedures according to OSHA standards.
• Work cooperatively as part of a team and independently when necessary.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Utilize Maintenance Management systems for tracking and reporting maintenance activities.
