About The Position

This role is crucial for Pfizer's pharmaceutical manufacturing team, ensuring that breakthroughs reach patients. The Maintenance Technician II, Utilities will contribute to Pfizer's mission by taking pride in their work and striving to improve outcomes, ultimately helping to provide medicines to patients and physicians. The position involves overseeing maintenance and reliability engineering tasks, including the redesign, upkeep, and repair of utility systems, buildings, and equipment. The technician is expected to work effectively as a team member, manage personal time and professional development, and be accountable for results. Tasks include following standard procedures, identifying and solving routine problems, and completing assignments with moderate supervision. The role also involves ensuring work accuracy and quality, participating in multi-craft activities, assisting with plant audits, engaging in safety committee activities, and adhering to all Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements. Additionally, the technician will track repair history, lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and recommend machine performance improvements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in computer usage
  • Solid understanding of basic technical or functional disciplines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Background in Biopharma
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Solid understanding of Food and Drug Administration PSM
  • Experience with continuous improvement activities
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and schematics
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity and basic understanding of common AI tools and a curiosity for learning how they can be used to enhance productivity

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and reliability engineering tasks, including the redesign, upkeep, and repair of utility systems, buildings, and equipment
  • Take responsibility for individual contributions to achieve team deliverables, working effectively as a team member and coordinating with others
  • Manage personal time and professional development, being accountable for results
  • Follow standard procedures to complete tasks of varying scope, sequence, and complexity within the agreed timeframe
  • Identify and solve moderately routine problems
  • Complete assignments with moderate supervision using established procedures, referring deviations from standard procedures to the supervisor
  • Ensure work is reviewed for accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards
  • Participate in multi-craft work activities, assist with plant audits, be involved in safety committee activities, and follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements and protocols
  • Track repair history of process support systems and equipment
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Make recommendations regarding improved machine performance
