About The Position

The Maintenance Technician II at Marquee Hotel is responsible for ensuring the upkeep and repair of guestrooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas, with a strong emphasis on guest relations and problem resolution. This role involves a variety of maintenance tasks aimed at maintaining an attractive and well-maintained property, contributing to a positive guest experience.

Requirements

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Ability to climb stairs and work on ladders up to 40 feet.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs. and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to grasp, stoop, and reach overhead with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • 3-5 years or more of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain guestrooms, public spaces, and back of house areas in good repair.
  • Perform painting, stucco, texturing, drywall, staining, and ceiling repairs.
  • Interact with guests for problem resolution and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic appliances and air-conditioning controls.
  • Conduct intermediate drywall, painting/staining, and wall vinyl repairs.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing fixtures, including drain cleaning and replacing faulty components.
  • Change filters and maintain all guestroom and public space equipment.
  • Replace caulk, tile/grout, and perform door repairs including locking mechanisms and hinges.
  • Inspect rooms for pest intrusion and replace cosmetic appliance components.
  • Replace light bulbs and ballasts, and repair closet/drapery tracks.
  • Stain furniture and repair nicks and gouges, and replace remote control batteries.
  • Unclog toilets and sinks, touch-up paint, and glue peeling wallpaper.
  • Implement planned scheduled preventative maintenance and maintain accurate functioning of all equipment and tools.
  • Establish clear communication with engineering leadership and assist other maintenance staff on special projects.
  • Respond to all guest requests to ensure client satisfaction and assist co-workers as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records in English for logs and inspection sheets.
