About The Position

The position involves performing routine, preventative, and general maintenance services that require a general skill in a variety of systems. The primary focus is on the safety of patients, staff, and themselves while maintaining life safety systems and required documentation. The role includes facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards, utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in equipment maintenance.
  • Proficient computer skills including CMMS, building automation systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Document maintenance activities through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, heat exchangers, and controls.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair patient care equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, carts, and tables.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical/electrical systems including pneumatic tube systems, HVAC, refrigerators/freezers, ice machines, commercial kitchen equipment, electrical, plumbing, piped medical gas systems, and specialized water systems.
  • Perform general maintenance functions including grounds maintenance, carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
  • Respond to emergencies such as leaks, floods, water outages, fires, power outages, and equipment failures.
  • Respond to building occupant requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and perform equipment safety checks.
  • Inspect and repair fire doors, hardware, firewalls, and smoke partitions.
  • Read blueprints and maintenance manuals to complete assignments.
