About The Position

The Maintenance Technician II position at Andersen Corporation involves troubleshooting and repairing various mechanical and electrical systems within the manufacturing environment. This role is critical in ensuring the operational efficiency of machinery and equipment, contributing to the company's commitment to excellence and innovation. The technician will work primarily on the 3rd shift and will be responsible for preventive maintenance, equipment upgrades, and collaborating with engineering and IT departments on various projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in maintenance or a similar role.
  • Proficient in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, HVAC, and dust collection.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Knowledge of safety practices such as lockout/tagout and proper use of PPE.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical functions, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plumbing, and electrical circuits.
  • Use appropriate tools to replace components and calibrate machinery to restore equipment to operating condition.
  • Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives and assist in deploying TPM objectives.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all machinery and document completed work.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and prints.
  • Evaluate equipment for repairs, enhancements, or upgrades and complete necessary work.
  • Perform plumbing, carpentry, welding, and painting tasks as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly guarded and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and spare parts.
  • Collaborate on Continuous Improvement projects and assist with hazardous waste management.
