About The Position

At Richelieu Foods we make Great Food from Great People. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician II on 2nd shift to provide support and solutions in our ever-changing food manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinery. This role also requires responding to emergency repair requests when issues arise during our production runs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience in an industrial maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting bearings, belts, sheaves, sprockets, chains, and gear reducers and proper alignment of these drive devices.
  • Experience in inspection of all included above and the ability to make recommendations on the proper level of replacement and inspection.
  • Ability to make recommendations on spare parts, lock-out tag-out, guarding, and the level of operator involvement for proper machine integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the food industry and knowledge of GMP’s and SQF audits would be valuable.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish/Hindi a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots mechanical electrical and PLC components, finding resolutions to issues in a safe and timely manner.
  • Fabricates, disassembles and assembles production equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Designs and fabricates new equipment to meet production needs.
  • Makes necessary adjustments to functional parts of devices and control instruments, based on production requirements.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment based on schedule or immediate needs.
  • Creates and enters work orders for necessary repairs.
  • Allocates and documents hours worked on applicable work orders.
  • Welds, performs sheet metal work and employs intermediate shop floor skills (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools).
  • Installs, moves, and relocates machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
