About The Position

The position involves responding to and attending to guest repair requests, communicating with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues, and performing preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment. Responsibilities include visually inspecting tools, equipment, or machines, carrying equipment such as tools and radios, and identifying, locating, and operating all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings. The role also requires maintaining maintenance inventory and requisitioning parts and supplies as needed. Daily activities and problems must be communicated to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards. The position requires basic knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge in various categories including air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance. Additional tasks include performing surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough cleanup of the painting or repair area. The role also involves testing, troubleshooting, and performing basic repairs on various types of equipment and plumbing, programming TVs, and performing general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties. Safety protocols must be followed, including the use of the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work. The position requires performing repairs on landscaping and external sprinklers, displaying basic computer skills, and adhering to company and safety policies. The candidate must maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect company assets, and develop positive working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
  • Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.
  • Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
  • Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio).
  • Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
  • Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in various maintenance categories.

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders.
  • Enter and locate work-related information using computers.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
