Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Once job is accepted, schooling is required per MAINT00311- Skill Trades Progression
  • Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 40 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking.
  • Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.
  • Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical and other environmental hazards.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts as appropriate.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform basic routine tasks in RSW, GMAW, and projection welding processes.
  • Ability to demonstrate the knowledge of sensors and applications.
  • Able to adjust, replace sensors, cables, lights, and hardware in general
  • Understand Ethernet and DeviceNet networking protocols.
  • Able to work well with power cutting tools, torches, air chisels.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers, and customers.
  • Understand Cosma Robot/PLC standards.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, equipment instructions, requirements, and business correspondences.
  • Ability to define basic problems, assist on collecting data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Able to work flexible hours and overtime.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts, such as percentages and proportions.
  • Able to effectively use computer and software as required.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a boom/scissor lift license.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair basic problems on plant facilities and production equipment of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic in nature.
  • Assists in the implementations and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for all equipment, performing scheduled maintenance on facilities and production equipment as required.
  • Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints, and files in orderly fashion.
  • Obtain and attend training for professional development and to stay current on maintenance and safety requirements and other training as required.
  • Complete all work in accordance with OSHA, NEC, JIC and DNR standards and regulations.
  • Complete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required software.
  • Maintain department repair parts stock and inventory.
  • Perform inspections and or verify that inspected work and maintained records conform to all applicable standards, codes, and customer requirements.
  • Enter inspection results into the computer based on inspection documents and produce detailed reports.
  • Ensure operations are performed as specified and in accordance with applicable procedures and specifications.
  • Perform basic robot programming and weld touch ups as needed on a daily basis.
  • Interpret electrical and weld drawings and other inspection documents and specifications.
  • Ensure only specified and properly qualified welding practices are used.
  • Make appropriate decisions on discrepant welds and elevate the decision following company’s escalation plans when necessary.
  • Communicates with maintenance manager and maintenance area/shift leaders, and other plant personnel about maintenance and quality concerns, providing complete action plans and status reports as and when required.
  • Follows and supports LMV Automotive System’s and Magna’s operating principles
  • Work with all shifts in design and development of improving methods and equipment through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
