About The Position

The Clearwater Housing Development Corporation (CHDC) is an asset management company that provides innovative, progressive and affordable property management. Maintenance Technician I The primary duties of a Maintenance Technician are the maintenance and improvement of our properties to ensure safety and appearance. The Maintenance Technician will complete repairs in vacant apartments, residential apartments, and common areas. The Maintenance Technician diagnoses and repairs issues involving HVAC or refrigeration (with the exception of handling freon), electrical, plumbing, elevators, swimming pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural and appliances. The Maintenance Technician also maintains property grounds by removing trash and plant debris. The work is performed in a variety of environments under the overall direction of the Capital Maintenance Officer. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm benefits-eligible, on-call position at Mainstreet Apartments in Clearwater, Florida. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • One year of experience in various trades including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, appliances and/or electrical maintenance and repair.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows operating system and MS Office software.
  • Possession of valid Florida Driver’s License .
  • Safety, fire prevention, and first aid techniques.
  • Measurement and mathematical calculations.
  • Operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to work in a variety of conditions and locations including confined areas, rooftops, underground spaces, etc.
  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
