The Facilities Department is ready to hire a Maintenance Technician to join our team. We are looking for compassionate, energetic, and dependable individuals who are committed to providing safe, functional, and attractive environments for the children and families we serve as well as our staff.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of facility maintenance or repair experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to properly use most basic hand and power tools
  • Comfort with climbing tall ladders
  • A clean five-year motor vehicle history and a valid Arizona Driver’s license
  • A level one fingerprint clearance card or the ability to obtain one prior to starting

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications and/or licenses in facilities-related trades or skills
  • Lift and carry boxes or materials up to 75 lbs
  • Comfortable with technology in performing job duties
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Sympathetic to the mission of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Complete repairs and maintenance projects in areas such as plumbing, appliance repair, painting, vehicles, HVAC filter changing, etc.
  • Work with outside facility-related vendors for more complicated repairs and bigger projects.
  • Conduct inspections of buildings, grounds, and vehicles to ensure they are safe and performing as needed.
  • Prepare properties for licensing inspections by state and/or federal authorities.
  • Assemble, set up, and move furniture.
  • Perform tests of fire alarms, smoke detector systems, and emergency, and exit sign lighting.
  • Drive a company vehicle to deliver items, get parts and supplies, and support the various programs and events in the organization.
  • Work individually at your assigned buildings and as a team on special projects or where an extra set of hands is needed.
