About The Position

Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment, not covered under a service agreement with outside contractors. Repair or supervise repair of damaged or non-functional equipment. Ensure maintenance request logs are checked daily and repairs are made in a timely manner. Ensure buildings plumbing and electrical systems are maintained Ensure all lights and fixtures are working and have appropriate coverings Ensure the physical plant, in general, meets or exceeds safety codes Ensure the grounds and building are maintained, clean, neat, and free of physical hazards. Ensure all client furniture is scheduled weekly for any defects or damages Maintain a list of maintenance supplies needed Maintain inventory records on tools and supplies used for maintenance Ensure all tools meet or exceed safety requirements Request replacement for broken or damaged tools Ensure tools and supplies are stored properly each day Ensure smooth operation of Maintenance Department Is on call for after-hours maintenance needs Supervise volunteers assigned to maintenance Any other task assigned by supervisor/Director of Operations

Requirements

  • High School or GED required
  • Must have reliable transportation and current driver’s license
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in facility maintenance and repair work
  • If in a program of substance recovery, must have at least one (1) year continuous sobriety.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform general maintenance and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate the ability to teach maintenance and repair techniques
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve in situations he/she is unfamiliar with and possess a willingness to seek advice when needed
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Observes client confidentiality requirements.
  • Adhere to facility Policies and Procedures.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal relationship skills with clients and staff members.
  • Performs assigned duties and responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Possesses the ability to control problem situations in a calm and directive manner.
  • Possesses the ability to establish and maintain a rapport with the clients.
  • Possesses the ability to motivate, confront, and self-disclose in an appropriate manner.
  • Demonstrate warmth, realness and empathy.
  • Willing to upgrade knowledge and skills through continued education and training.
