Job Description STARTING WAGE $24.50 + $1.50 night shift differential Pay based on experience AFB International – Where We Make Pet Food Taste Great! Joining our team as a Maintenance Technician, B Crew Liquid and Dry Facilities. B Crew Shift Hours: 6 pm-6 am; Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday. At AFB, our People Matter including you. As a Night Maintenance Tech, you’ll be the problem-solver who keeps our pet food operation running strong. You’ll use a Kaizen mindset to spot issues before they happen, help us win and grow with customers, and support a company that thinks beyond today with a true long term approach. If you want a place where you can grow your skills and make a difference, step in. This position will be responsible for conducting both routine and breakdown maintenance in the Aurora plant. These duties will include troubleshooting of plant systems and repair and rebuild of plant components. Individual should function well with members of the AFB team. Individual should also be available to work all shifts and be available for overtime as needed.
Requirements
- Demonstrated working knowledge of rotating equipment and fabrication.
- Demonstrated ability for pipefitting and fabrication.
- Demonstrated knowledge of welding.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Desire for continuous learning and improvement.
- Working knowledge of electrical circuits.
- Working knowledge of electrical safety codes.
- Familiar with computer and microprocessors.
- Individual should function well with members of the AFB team.
- Individual should also be available to work all shifts and be available for overtime as needed.

Responsibilities
- System troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical.
- Adherence to all safety policies.
- Preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Responsible to clean and sanitize any work area and equipment where maintenance has been performed, or in accordance with supervisory instructions, including any Critical Control Points, in accordance with the plant food safety requirements.
- Studies and signs off on HACCP training in accordance with the plant food safety requirements.
- Cleans and Maintains work area in accordance with the Master Cleaning Schedule.
- Other duties may be required at the supervisor or management request.
