About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Maintenance Technician I is an entry level position and is responsible for conducting machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service with basic efficiency. They may also be responsible for resolving warranty and non-warranty repairs to damaged products. Performs duties under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and Leads.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 1 - 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions by locating sources of problems through observation and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts with measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
• Fabricates repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock and placing orders.
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting and analyzing information.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations.
• Performs building, lighting, and plumbing repairs for the facility as needed.
