About The Position
Myers Container d.b.a. North Coast Container is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team at our facility located at 8435 NE Lombard Street, Portland, OR. As an industry leader in manufacturing industrial steel drum packaging solutions, we pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, value, and service. We are looking for a dedicated individual who shares our vision of focusing on the customer, respecting our people, and continuously improving our processes. The Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hydraulic and pneumatic machinery. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair, particularly with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. A strong ability to read and interpret blueprints is essential. Additionally, candidates must possess welding experience, specifically in Stick, ARC, and MIG welding, and fabrication experience is highly desired. This position offers a retention bonus of $3,000 and provides tools necessary for the job. The pay rate starts at $25 per hour, with the potential for more based on experience. The role is full-time, with shifts starting as early as 4 a.m., and may require overtime and Saturday work as needed. Overtime is mandatory when required. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, monitoring machinery for malfunctions, and executing repairs on various types of machinery. This role also involves fabricating metal components, troubleshooting breakdowns, and training new maintenance mechanics as necessary.
