About The Position

The Amherst-Pelham Regional School District is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN, HVAC. This is a full-time, full year permanent position, working 40+ hours per week between the hours of 7am to 3:30pm. This is a grade E position within the AFSCME bargaining unit with an hourly pay range of $19.85 to $21.29

Requirements

• Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician.
• Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in tight spaces.
• Basic computer skills, including but not limited to email usage.
• Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI).
• Acceptable National Criminal Background Check, commonly referred to as a fingerprint check.
• Must possess good oral and written communication skills
• Minimum required: Vocational Tech School Certificate in HVAC
• Minimum required: EPA Certification in Refrigeration
• Minimum required: 6 months in HVAC maintenance/repair

Nice To Haves

• Preferred: Vocational Tech School Degree in HVAC
• Preferred: 1-3 years commercial/residential maintenance and repair
• Preferred: None

Responsibilities

• Support the Maintenance Specialists in working with Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and other trades as needed.
• Assisting with installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC equipment.
• Operating a variety of hand and power tools needed for HVAC installation
• Cleaning, maintaining and replacing ventilation systems
• Following the instructions for picking, and delivering tools and materials, and supplies from the job site
• Ensuring that tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored and maintained in good condition
• Completing preventive maintenance on HVAC systems and related equipment
• Ensuring HVAC systems remain compliant with industry-standard and regulations
