About The Position
The Maintenance Technician at Dairy Farmers of America plays a crucial role in ensuring that all equipment operates effectively and efficiently. This position involves a variety of tasks including preventative maintenance, overhauls, modifications, fabrication, welding, and troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical issues. The technician will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on production and processing equipment, as well as utility-related equipment, all while adhering to safety procedures and company policies. In addition to maintenance tasks, the technician will support the installation of new equipment and assist in the implementation of a preventive maintenance program. They will also provide training and troubleshooting assistance to machine operators to minimize equipment downtime. It is essential for the technician to document all repairs and keep management informed of any maintenance issues that arise. The role requires a commitment to safety, ensuring that every employee leaves work in the same condition as they arrived. The technician will follow all good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in compliance with corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements. The position requires attendance at various training sessions, including safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF). The work schedule includes on-call duties and weekend shifts as needed, making flexibility an important aspect of this role.
