About The Position

Our Maintenance team is looking for a Maintenance Technician who is able to work the day shift (7:00am – 7:00pm) on a schedule that works 2 shifts on and then 2 shifts off and every second weekend (Fri, Sat and Sun). This role is responsible for repairing and maintaining equipment using personal and company provided hand and power tools. McCain is a large Food Manufacturing company, with a team of more than 20,000 around the world. Our Easton Maine facility has over 440 amazing team members. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Valid State of Maine Driver’s license or ability to transfer an out of state license.
  • Minimum of 3 months related experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment including experience with motors and controls, packaging operations, experience with conveyors, otters, and other equipment.
  • Have or be able to obtain McCain Forklift Certification, Scissor Lift Certification, & Boom Lift Certifications
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn touch screen computer systems and the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
  • Ability to read drawing schematics, piping and instrumentation drawings (P & Ids), and blueprints (mechanical drawings)
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems; pumps, gearboxes, drive belts, and sprockets
  • Knows how to use basic hand tools, drills, grinders, etc.
  • Ability to perform general fabrication work using welders, torches, roller, lathe, plasma torches, metal break and metal shear
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crawl and ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, lifts, and power tools.
  • Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfection.
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Lubricate equipment per daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly schedule.
  • Observe mechanical equipment in operation and troubleshoot issues during break downs.
  • Repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers specifications machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, and equipment.
  • Repair various piping systems to include but not limited to steam, wastewater, high pressure, ammonia, and hydraulics.
  • May set up or operate various metal working tools to make repair parts.
  • Assist with carpentry and masonry projects as needed.
  • Enter confined spaces, after receiving proper training and certification.
