About The Position
As a full-time Maintenance Technician at American Campus Communities, you will play a crucial role in preserving the condition and functionality of a student housing community. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing excellent customer service while performing general maintenance work orders in residents' homes. Your responsibilities will include preparing apartments for new residents, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, and contributing to a positive living environment for students. Your typical day will involve completing a variety of interior and exterior work orders, which may include tasks related to electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, drywall repair, painting, and appliance maintenance. You will also be responsible for preventative maintenance and general repairs of both the exterior and interior systems of the buildings. Additionally, you will assist with maintaining the swimming pool and spa, snow and ice removal, and general upkeep of the grounds, including moving furniture and unloading supplies. As part of your role, you will be on-call for emergency work orders and lock-outs, ensuring that residents receive prompt assistance when needed. You will also assist in completing Monthly Facilities Plan tasks and adhere to Basic Operating Systems & Standards to maintain a clean and well-maintained community. Participation in employee staff meetings and company safety meetings/webinars is expected, and you will be responsible for reporting any observed violations of property rules and regulations to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager or General Manager.
