What this job involves: This position combines advanced technical expertise in facility maintenance with specialized chemical handling responsibilities in a manufacturing environment. You'll maintain critical building systems including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing while ensuring safe receipt, storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous chemicals. The role demands strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance while ensuring optimal building performance and occupant safety. What your day-to-day will look like: Conduct general repair and preventive maintenance including mobilization of tools, equipment and materials with minimal disruption to occupants Maintain HVAC & Electrical systems and equipment at optimum performance levels through cleaning, inspecting, calibrating and changing parts Perform minor plumbing including unclogging drains, fixing water leaks, and replacing fixtures Utilize CMMS work order system to manage timely completion of all preventative and corrective maintenance assignments Plan and schedule work orders efficiently to minimize operational disruption Safely receive, label, and store chemical shipments according to safety protocols Maintain accurate inventory of chemicals and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Safely transfer chemicals to production areas as needed Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations Respond to chemical spills and participate in emergency response drills Provide best-in-class customer service to all tenants and agencies Complete special tasks including painting, pressure washing, client service requests, and special cleaning

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience handling hazardous materials
  • Knowledge of chemical safety protocols and regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Effective use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel), CMMS, and internet-based software
  • Strong attention to detail and safety-first mindset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift, carry and push equipment weighing 50 pounds or more
  • Ability to work on ladders at heights up to 30 feet and on roofs in all weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • CMRT Certification (Certified Maintenance Technician)
  • Hands-on knowledge of CMMS with Planning & Scheduling experience
  • Competency with power and hand tools applicable for maintenance work
  • Ability to diagnose defects and install, repair, and maintain equipment
