About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician Apprentice to join our manufacturing team for 2nd shift, in Decatur, IL- 2:00pm- 10:30 pm. The Industrial Maintenance Apprentice will have the opportunity to assist and job shadow senior technicians, improving job skill and industry exposure while performing preventive maintenance on a wide variety of facility and process related equipment, such as industrial electrical systems and lighting, overhead doors, pumps and motors, valves, conveyors, motors, pumps, electrical control systems, automated equipment and piping, etc.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Meet the College's requirements for reading, math, and basic tools competency.
Follow the apprenticeship curriculum mix of classroom education and hands-on industry experience.
Be available to work any shift/hours during the work phase of the apprenticeship, Must be willing to work overtime when required.
Be at least 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

Conducts planned preventive maintenance inspections and perform required preventative maintenance actions (lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.) as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Reviews and submits work order updates to planner scheduler.
Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
Operates a PC with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
