About The Position

Under direct supervision, support overall maintenance for Tolmar Facilities. The apprenticeship will have rotations in each of the sub-departments of maintenance: site services; calibration; facilities maintenance; and production maintenance. This position is responsible for assisting with monitoring and maintaining the facilities and utility systems as well as equipment for laboratory and manufacturing client groups.

Requirements

  • Pursuing High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas preferred but not required: HVAC, Purified/DI Water, steam systems, hot water systems, Clean Utilities (clean steam, Water for Injection, etc.), manufacturing equipment, electrical systems, plumbing systems.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, squat, kneel and lift a minimum of 50lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintenance operations and troubleshooting on production, facility/utility equipment and Tolmar buildings as well as supporting engineering projects.
  • Assist technicians in performing repairs and preventative maintenance activities, as well as instrument calibrations on equipment and or facilities.
  • Perform assigned work orders and enter all data into the work order system in a timely manner.
  • Complete all work in accordance with CFRs, cGMPs, SOPs, and Tolmar policies.
  • Perform various housekeeping duties (work areas, equipment and mechanical spaces).
  • Process purchase requisitions and order preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance parts and accessories as required.
  • Maintain cGMP Training as assigned.
  • Assist with moving and assembly of office furniture, conference room setup, etc.
  • Support basic facility maintenance and repairs such as plumbing, lighting and painting.
  • Assist technicians in maintaining spare parts inventory for equipment.
  • Identify and complete a continuous improvement project within the maintenance department.
  • Assist with Quality Event investigations and company audits.
  • Participate in required annual hazardous waste training.
  • Respond to spills per the Chemical Spill Procedure.
  • Perform facility maintenance and repairs (pest control inspections, site inspections, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Pay: $17.25 per hour
  • Hours are negotiable due to full-time student status of the apprentice.
  • Minimum of 20 hours per week required.
  • No more than 40 hours per week.
  • Benefit eligible when working full time hours.
