About The Position

The Maintenance Technician position at ITW Shakeproof involves maintaining and repairing cold heading and thread rolling machines. The role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical components, hydraulics, and welding. The technician will work the 3rd shift, focusing on diagnosing malfunctions, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of production equipment.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of maintenance experience.
• Associate's degree from a Technical College preferred.
• Apprenticeship or Journeyman experience preferred.
• Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.
• Forklift Truck Experience required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete routine production and quality reports.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Understanding and compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with high voltage systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic principles.

Responsibilities

• Inspect machinery to diagnose malfunctions in equipment and repair or replace defective equipment as necessary.
• Test and repair malfunctioning production equipment/machinery and notify appropriate personnel.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment including machinery, cranes, and forklifts.
• Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools, welders, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
• Maintain and repair machinery including lathes, mills, and drill presses as required.
• Test water supply daily and maintain waste water treatment equipment and processes.
• Demonstrate high level of mechanical aptitude and knowledge of timing of cams and gears, and how to set backlash and replace bushings.
• Perform janitorial, plumbing, pipefitting, painting, and carpentry duties as needed.
