About The Position

The position involves the installation, repair, rebuilding, and maintenance of machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services. The role requires diagnosing machine malfunctions and operating difficulties, making necessary repairs or adjustments to keep equipment in production, and performing skilled operations such as filing and aligning bearings, spindles, and shafts. Additionally, the position entails performing maintenance on buildings, facilities, and grounds, as well as preventive maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning units. The technician will also maintain required maintenance logs and files, perform routine housekeeping activities, and respond to urgent maintenance issues that may disrupt production. This role includes on-call responsibilities as part of a rotation dictated by the Plant Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services.
• Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.
• Make repairs or adjustments to keep equipment in production.
• Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments.
• Perform skilled operations such as filing and aligning bearings, spindles, and shafts.
• Perform various activities related to the installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment.
• Perform maintenance on the buildings, facilities, and the grounds.
• Assist in determining the nature and scope of forthcoming projects and the requirements for completion.
• Perform preventive maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning units.
• Maintain required maintenance logs and files in preferred program.
• Perform routine housekeeping activities in the department and ensure adherence to established safety procedures and requirements.
• Respond to urgent maintenance issues causing a major deficit to production/operations.
• Maintain and utilize 3rd party vendors to troubleshoot or provide routine preventative maintenance.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper technique and quality.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment required by this position and follow GMP's.
• Work together well with a variety of personalities and individuals to accomplish business goals.
