The purpose of this job is to maintain equipment to reduce failure occurrences and to repair equipment in a safe and effective manner. The role involves completing daily preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, performing repairs on all equipment as needed, and diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues. Technicians are expected to provide data for correct repair parts, fill out part requests, install parts upon arrival, and inform production when repairs are complete. Daily documentation on work orders and communication with other technicians is essential. Additionally, the technician will monitor the water system, assist in training or mentoring other mechanics, and suggest continual improvements and cost-saving ideas. The role also requires investigating leaks or spills and adhering to corporate and departmental environmental quality and safety programs, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
