The position involves installing, maintaining, and repairing machines and equipment in plants and related facilities. The role requires performing a variety of preventative maintenance on parts, pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, and related plant and facility equipment. The employee will read, review, and apply blueprints, schematics, and operating manuals to fix, repair, and maintain equipment. Additionally, the position requires knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, electrical, electronics, welding, and other skilled trades as appropriate or applicable. The employee will operate a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery in the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of parts, machines, and equipment. Completing work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties is also a key responsibility. The employee will assist with inspecting the plant and related facilities for mechanical and equipment problems, reviewing and examining areas, and determining appropriate actions; they will also assist with contractors and sub-contractors. Ensuring compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations is essential, which will require the employee to wear safety equipment or gear. The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe working environment and may include performing various janitorial or housekeeping tasks. Effective communication with production, quality control, warehousing, and other departments is necessary to maintain a safe and effective environment and to ensure quality products.
