About The Position

Position: HVAC Maintenance Tech Reports To: Service Manager Purpose: Responsibilities: tune ups on residential gas furnaces, electric furnaces, air conditioners, duct work, etc. Educating customers by offering proactive repairs, system upgrades and maintenance agreements. Using an iPad to create customer invoices and communicate with the office. Travel to job sites in service area, and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer. Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle. Document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary. Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Hours This is a non-exempt position. Work hours to be determined. Overtime and weekends my occasionally be required based on the needs of the business. Requirements: Must have a high school diploma and/or equivalent. Valid driver's license and clean driving history. Able to pass a background check. Basic mechanical skills or foundational HVAC knowledge, and the ability to learn on the job (EPA certification preferred or willingness to obtain). Competencies Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time. Must have excellent organizational skills. Must have good oral and written communications skills. Observe all company procedures and safety rules. Work as part of our team to ensure customer satisfaction. Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must have basic computer skills and be able to utilize mobile device throughout the workday. Work Environment Frequently works in outside weather conditions. May be exposed to uncomfortable temperatures and/or conditions. Occasionally exposed to wet, snow, hot, and humid conditions. Subject to dark confined workspaces such as crawl spaces and attics. Physical Requirements: Moderate to heavy working conditions. Be comfortable with and physically able to safely help lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, stand for long periods of time, bend, crawl and kneel. Must be able to lift 100+ pounds at a time. Supervisory Responsibility None. All questionable matters are referred to Supervisor. Travel Willing to travel within the following counties King, Snohomish, Pierce, Thurston, Kitsap, Mason, Jefferson, Island (travel may occur within other counties).
