Turning Point has an opening for a full-time Maintenance Tech. The Maintenance Tech is responsible for day-to-day maintenance related activities including, but not limited to: maintaining the facility in a safe condition and assisting with repairs and renovations. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required, formal education in skilled trades preferred.
Maintenance, general construction experience preferred; previous experience in institutional and/or commercial facility maintenance preferred.
Must be able to perform physical activities such as prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, and handling of materials. Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds.
Participate in rotational on-call schedule.
Requires the ability to work in extreme weather conditions including heat and winter weather.
Requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision.
Regular and consistent attendance is an essential job function; reliable transportation is required.
Current Georgia Driver's License with: no more than 3 moving violations during the past 3 years no multiple violations for driving without insurance no more than 2 accidents on record for the past 3 years no DUI or DWI convictions within the past 7 years

Responsibilities

maintaining the facility in a safe condition and assisting with repairs and renovations
changing light bulbs
intalling paper dispenser units
changing filters
changing locks on doors
minor decorative maintenance
preventative maintenance
inspecting smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and emergency exit lights
delivering boxes
moving furniture
touch-up painting
other tasks not requiring a licensed skilled trades person
Identify and correct unsafe working conditions with management oversight.
assist with special events
drive a cart or other vehicle
utilize basic cleaning and other chemicals
Assist skilled trade workers in one or more areas performing specific or standard duties.
Respond to customer questions or requests demonstrating courteous and professional customer service.
Maintain a clean, orderly and secure work environment. Ensure proper care and use of tools, equipment, supplies and materials.
Take necessary precautions to comply with institutional, departmental, or regulatory agency safety requirements.
Maintain appropriate documentation and maintenance records to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and codes.
