Turning Point has an opening for a full-time Maintenance Tech. The Maintenance Tech is responsible for day-to-day maintenance related activities including, but not limited to: maintaining the facility in a safe condition and assisting with repairs and renovations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, formal education in skilled trades preferred.
  • Maintenance, general construction experience preferred; previous experience in institutional and/or commercial facility maintenance preferred.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, and handling of materials. Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Participate in rotational on-call schedule.
  • Requires the ability to work in extreme weather conditions including heat and winter weather.
  • Requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is an essential job function; reliable transportation is required.
  • Current Georgia Driver's License with: no more than 3 moving violations during the past 3 years no multiple violations for driving without insurance no more than 2 accidents on record for the past 3 years no DUI or DWI convictions within the past 7 years

Responsibilities

  • intalling paper dispenser units
  • changing filters
  • changing locks on doors
  • minor decorative maintenance
  • preventative maintenance
  • inspecting smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and emergency exit lights
  • delivering boxes
  • moving furniture
  • touch-up painting
  • other tasks not requiring a licensed skilled trades person
  • Identify and correct unsafe working conditions with management oversight.
  • assist with special events
  • drive a cart or other vehicle
  • utilize basic cleaning and other chemicals
  • Assist skilled trade workers in one or more areas performing specific or standard duties.
  • Respond to customer questions or requests demonstrating courteous and professional customer service.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and secure work environment. Ensure proper care and use of tools, equipment, supplies and materials.
  • Take necessary precautions to comply with institutional, departmental, or regulatory agency safety requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and maintenance records to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and codes.
