About The Position

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for the maintenance of the facility and its equipment as directed by the Maintenance Director, to protect the health and safety of all residents, personnel and the public in accordance with all state and federal regulations Responsible for assisting with the maintenance of all mechanical, electric and plumbing systems and patient care equipment in a safe operating condition to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents, guests and staff Responsible for completing basic maintenance work including but not limited to drywall, painting, plumbing, landscaping. Responsible for following the preventative maintenance program and quality assurance program to ensure the safe operation of the facility and equipment. Required to be on-call for emergencies and/or problem situations and coordinate a timely response

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of a high school education
  • Prior experience in building maintenance preferred
  • Certifications or licenses in plumbing or electrical are a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent customers service and communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and, to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Ability to remain calm and cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
  • Must be in good general health and free of communicable diseases
  • Must have visual acuity and ability to hear, with or without use of prosthetics
  • Must have the physical ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move intermittently throughout the shift, as well as the ability to climb and descend stairs, use elevator and assist residents
  • Must have the physical ability to lift, push, pull and move equipment in excess of fifty pounds and stand for extended period of time
  • Must have the ability to read, write and speak the English language

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in building maintenance preferred
