About The Position

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Manufacturing Production Workers focus on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production (i.e., machining, processing, assembly, or packaging) equipment including: •Operating machine tool, chemical processing, assembly, or packaging equipment to manufacture products according to production specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards •Moving, packing, and sorting raw materials or finished goods •Monitoring the quality of output to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products •Maintaining accurate daily production records as input to manufacturing performance analysis Tate & Lyle is a global provider of ingredients and solutions to the food, beverage, and other industries, operating from more than 30 locations around the world. ROLE PURPOSE: The maintenance technician role should be capable of performing all routine and most non-routine equipment, building and ground maintenance work, oversee and aid contractors, and effectively communicate with other plant personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and adhere to corporate policies and procedures
  • Perform welding, plumbing, pipefitting, metal fabrication, equipment troubleshooting, and installation of equipment
  • Perform basic electrical testing and troubleshooting of motor starters, drives, controls, etc.
  • Ability to wear PPE and other safety equipment
  • Technical knowledge of pumps, gear boxes, hydraulics, and other equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints, and P&ID’s, and other drawings
  • Assist and perform trouble shooting/repairs to multiple types of equipment
  • Follow procedures and SOP’s guidelines
  • Interface with plant personnel, contractors, and vendors
  • Perform site safety, GMP conditions, and safety concerns and observations
  • Ability to use hand, air, and power tools
  • Ability to lift and maneuverer fifty (50) pounds without mechanical assistance
  • Provide off-shift coverage and call-ins
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications for data entry/document creation
