What You'll Be Doing The Maintenance Technician has overall responsibility for providing high quality services and responses to a wide range of facility and equipment maintenance solutions. The Maintenance Technician also performs maintenance duties necessary to maintain the physical condition of fitness and tanning equipment and the overall appearance of assigned clubs. United FP will provide you with certification training on all manufacturer equipment, company vehicle, laptop, and tools to perform the role. In your role, you will:

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent Customer Service skills with a high degree of member awareness
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, and materials is a must
  • Well organized, self-motivated, reliable, detail oriented, and able to work without supervision in a team environment
  • General handyman skills with the ability to perform minor repairs on plumbing, lighting, drywall, flooring, and fixtures.
  • Experience using basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to assess facility issues, determine root cause, and resolve or escalate appropriately.
  • Comfortable working independently on a wide variety of facility-related tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working at heights, including climbing ladders and accessing rooftops in accordance with safety protocols
  • Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record
  • Able to travel to clubs in assigned territory
  • Able to periodically lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in facilities maintenance, general repair work, or building upkeep is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assign tickets through work order system for all repairs related to fitness and spa equipment for your assigned club locations unless under manufacturer warranty
  • Have responsibility for maintenance of all fitness and spa equipment per the manufacturer guidelines on a recurring schedule
  • Report to the Technical Supervisor who will lead and develop you through coaching and feedback, provide support in outlining recurring schedule, and ensures appropriate alignment and assigned routes to effectively distribute maintenance duties
  • Order parts and purchase supplies on an as needed basis to enhance the member experience in our clubs
  • Update ticketing system and close out tickets when work is completed
  • Have a set of clubs assigned to you as part of your territory to provide maintenance on fitness and spa equipment
  • Addressing facility-related work orders (lighting, plumbing, flooring, etc.)
  • Supporting PM efforts on facility infrastructure (HVAC filters, water softener, etc.)
  • Triaging what can be handled in-house vs. vendor escalation
  • Proactively identifying and resolving minor facility issues
  • Safely utilize ladders and access club rooftops as needed for tasks such as HVAC filter replacements, minor repairs, or coordinating vendor work.
