The Maintenance Technician plays an important role in creating a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our residents, families, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of the community, helping ensure our building remains clean, functional, and welcoming at all times. Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in senior housing, assisted living, healthcare, or multi-family housing
  • Strong working knowledge of general building maintenance, repair practices, and preventative maintenance
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, prioritize tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with seniors, families, and staff
  • Computer proficiency is helpful for work orders, communication, and basic documentation
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and supplies as needed for the role
  • Must pass a Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) background check (some negative actions may be acceptable depending on the result and position requirements)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with unit/apartment turnovers preferred
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance, state/local inspections, and facility standards is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including but not limited to: Minor plumbing repairs General carpentry Painting and drywall repair Minor appliance troubleshooting and repair Basic electrical troubleshooting (within scope) General upkeep and cleaning of maintenance areas
  • Complete resident work orders in a timely, professional, and customer-service-focused manner
  • Perform apartment/unit turnovers to prepare for new residents, including painting, patching, replacing worn or faulty parts, and ensuring appliances and fixtures are in good working order
  • Conduct routine inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment to identify maintenance needs proactively
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs to support building systems and extend the life of equipment
  • Help maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff by promptly addressing hazards or repair concerns
  • Support readiness for state, local, and regulatory inspections by helping ensure the community is maintained to high operational standards
  • Maintain organized maintenance supplies, tools, and work areas
  • Build positive, professional relationships with residents, families, guests, and team members through friendly and respectful service
