About The Position

Maintenance Technician maintains, repairs, and installs equipment, machinery, and facilities under direct supervision. Maintains a variety of records; participates in special projects; and performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. This is the entry-level position for the Maintenance Technician series.

Requirements

• High School graduate or GED required.
• 1-2 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Ability to use hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, presses, cordless drills, clamps, and other miscellaneous small tools safely and effectively.
• Willing to learn how to properly use a variety of measuring equipment to a high level of accuracy of 0.001” to diagnose wear or damage in machine parts.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with related hand tools and troubleshooting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance assigned by a supervisor.
• Inspects, repairs, and maintains mechanical equipment and machinery using a variety of tools.
• Practices safety awareness in all actions, including machine operation and lock-out/tag-out procedures for all responsibilities.
• Shares information with the supervisor and other team members in a manner that is understandable.
• Possesses strong troubleshooting skills.
• Organizes parts and materials in the proper locations.
• Lifts, moves, pushes, pulls, carries and manipulates large and small materials weighing up to 20lbs frequently and up to 50lbs unaccompanied.
• Displays a positive team player approach supporting management objectives.
• Follows directions well.
• Displays the willingness to learn.
• Works with other departments to ensure overall success.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
